Kitchen Planning using property search websites
This is a post we’ve had in the works for a long time. Written, re-written and added to over the past few months. Maybe it was the boredom of lockdown started it all. But for as long as I remember I’ve had an addiction to looking at houses (most of which are well out of my budget) but if you don’t dream you’ll never have one. So i’m speaking up now about my addiction to house searching when i’m not actually house searching. I know I’m not the only one!
The one thing I skip though all the pictures to is the kitchens. If the kitchen’s ugly I move on. I must be in search of the dream kitchen. But then it sprang upon me. This is the BEST way to look for your dream kitchen whether it be the colour, layout or even the floor. There is no better way to see what something looks like than in someone elses house. Not a showroom or an Ikea computer programme that promises to show you what your kitchen would look like. You need to see it with peoples things in it, being lived in.
By the way this might tempt some of you to move to Northern Ireland when you see the house prices here! During COVID-19 the prices haven’t changed that much but some of the offers from the banks re:mortgages have with them asking more deposit etc but if you shop around you can still get a good deal. I use this great wee tool called Mortgage Calculator UK which I think is just a small independent website but it’s a great tool and always seems to be updated unlike some of the others. So check it out if these kitchens tempt you!!
Fancy the looks of Apple Cottage? With a thatched roof and traditional exterior it hides a modern and well designed kitchen.

Or the ultimate country pad Skea Hall ! Set within its own land. This enormous house would cost millions on the mainland UK. I love the kitchen with a small dining table up against the island unit. It makes for a nice informal family dinner setting where you can all eat in the kitchen.

Another beautiful country house, Eldercott Cottage. I love the country cottage feel kitchen with the modern addition of an island unit. This is a beautiful spacious kitchen but I think the beams really complete the look. If you have this space and hight in the kitchen I think beams look great!

Now for the complete opposite of all these. Modern chic. Absolute minimalist design of this house located on Seacoast Road. But this is for a good reason. The views. You wouldnt want to distract from the incredible seaviews of this home. Situated right on the waters edge this is a beautiful new build house. Although it is obviously vacant the design of the kitchen is clean sleek lines which might look best kept to a minimum. The one thing which really stood out to me was the contrast of the brass taps and the dark midnight blue cupboards. This looks phenomenal together so I might steal that idea for a future kitchen of mine!
